Chess Fighter

Last updated 20 October 2026. On Apple's App Store the game is called "Chess Fighters".

The short version

  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking. You don't make an account with us.
  • We don't collect, sell or share your personal data.
  • Your progress stays on your device.
  • Online play runs on Epic Online Services, so when you play online, Epic Games handles your sign-in and the world standings.
  • You can play everything except online rooms and the world standings without signing in to anything.

Who we are

Chess Fighter is made by iMadeThatGame, a one-person studio in Istanbul run by Ugurkan Ates. Questions about this policy or your data: [email protected].

What stays on your device

The game keeps a profile on your device:

  • the name you type for yourself;
  • your record: wins, losses and streaks;
  • what you've unlocked: arcade progress, costumes and endings;
  • your settings, such as sound, controls and the view you like.

It is stored only in the game's own storage on your device. We never receive it. Deleting the game deletes it.

On Steam, Steam Cloud can keep a copy of the save so it follows you between computers. Valve handles that copy under Steam's privacy policy.

When you play online

Online rooms, invites and the world standings use Epic Online Services, a service of Epic Games, Inc. To play online you sign in:

  • with an Epic Games account on iPhone, iPad, Mac and the Epic Games Store;
  • with your Steam account on Steam, without a separate Epic login.

To make online play work, Epic receives:

  • your Epic or Steam account identifier and your display name;
  • the rooms you host or join: a room code, how many people are in the room, and whether a match is under way;
  • after an online match, your rating and your wins and losses, which the world leaderboard shows next to your display name;
  • the moves of an online match, which travel between the players' devices directly or through Epic's relay.

Epic handles this data under the Epic Games privacy policy. To see or delete your Epic account data, use your Epic account settings or contact Epic.

On Steam, the game also uses Steam achievements and shows your status (for example "In a match") to your Steam friends, with a room code they can join. Valve handles that under Steam's privacy policy.

If you don't sign in, nothing goes online. Single player, the arcade, two players on one device and rooms on your local network all work without it.

Crash reports and testing

  • Crash reports. The game sends us no crash reports. On iPhone, iPad and Mac, if you have chosen in your device settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with us. These don't identify you.
  • Beta testing through TestFlight. Apple shares with us the name and email address you were invited with, the feedback and screenshots you choose to send, and crash reports from the beta. We use them only to fix and improve the game. Apple's TestFlight terms apply.

Children

Chess Fighter is not made for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone, children included. Epic Games applies its own age rules to Epic accounts used for online play.
